SASP Employee Newsletter February 2017

Written by Danny

Dear Employees,

The previous month has been extremely tough and this has been noted by all of the administration. Fortunately, due to Batch #40 graduating we have a large number of boots on the ground and for the first time it feels like our service level is at the standard required to serve our community fairly and the way they deserve. It is in our best interests to continue in this manner as the public's trust is growing exponentially on a daily basis.

The amount of 911 calls being answered is on the rise, which over the last couple of months was a massive issue - which means we are beginning to tick all of the boxes. Not only this, but we are achieving all of the targets that are being set to us by the State. In recognition of the hard work that everyone has been putting in over the last few months, we will be holding a State Police recognition evening very shortly, so please keep your eyes peeled for more information.

To conclude the introduction and let you continue reading, I would personally like to apologize for my absence over the last month or so. I have been called to numerous conferences and events over the past month as we approach the end of the financial year, and your continued excellence in the field has been noted. I would also like to thank my High Command & Command Teams for their support and assistance during my absence, and again - this has been noted.

I wish you all the best for the upcoming month.

Press Release #167 - Be The Next Hero (San Andreas State Police)

Written by James Radcliffe (Meyrick)

Dear San Andreas,

Academy Batch #40 was a great success, with a record-breaking 117 applications, 47 of which making it to the academy. Our fantastic students have been on the field for a number of weeks and are eagerly waiting for their Graduation Ceremony which will be this Sunday 26th February at 20:00 UTC ((Click here for time conversions)). The Graduation Ceremony will be held at Dillimore Police Station and everyone is welcome, you're advised to arrive 15-20 minutes early to get a good parking space.

The San Andreas State Police Academy is by far the most organized and efficient operation within the department, ensuring all academy students get the training they need, both administrative and on the field to ensure they can be a confident and respectful law enforcement officer. Upon passing the academy exam, the students will be able to patrol with Troopers and will be given a curriculum which they will have to demonstrate their knowledge of. During this time, the Trooper who they are patrolling with will take note of what they have witnessed and created a report. All of these reports get filed into a Field Training Report and upon completion, the Probationary Trooper will be signed off for graduation.

During the graduation, various members of the command and high command team will say a few statements on how the department has grown and talked about some highlights from the academy, the Probationary Troopers will then be put under oath and sworn in as a State Trooper.

"Academy Graduations are an extremely exciting time for me personally. It's an opportunity for me to see the hard work of our newest, eager and dedicated employees get recognized and exchanged for a prosperous career within the San Andreas State Police. During my service in the department, I've overseen the Academy graduations of many successful employees - including Captain First Class James Fitzpatrick, who was my Field Training Student when I was a Lieutenant! I'd also like to take an opportunity to thank the Field Training Officers who have devoted long hours of hardship and administrative duty to ensuring these novel members of our department get off to the best start possible. I am, of course, looking forward to welcoming and overseeing the recruitment of a new batch of students next week also - I'm sure it'll keep me busy... Once again, well done to everybody and I look forward to the graduation ceremony to formally congratulate all of you." - Vincent Kemp, Major

"When I found out that I had made it to Probationary Trooper a thrill of excitement shot through me like a bolt of lightening. I knew that once I had made it this far, my career path was on track. Through the help of many great troopers, I have learned great things, this has developed me into who I am now. Even today, I continue to thrive and I am greatly anxious to see if I made State Trooper or not." - Kyle Patrick, Probationary Trooper

Applications are due to open on March 1, 2017 and will be open until March 15, 2017 with the orientation the next day. The Academy will take place on March 17th, 18th, 19th at 3 pm, 12 pm and 12 pm consecutively. If you feel like you're up to the challenge then it's time to start preparing now. Be the next hero that San Andreas needs, join us for Academy Batch #41.

SASP Employee Newsletter January 2017

Written by Danny

Dear Employees,

January has been a great month for progress as we work to amend various changes made in the last year. We want to thank everyone for continuing to adapt to the changes we have made to ensure the department is as best as it can be. As everyone returns from their time off from the holidays, we want to make sure that all employees are still up to date with any recently implemented protocols or changes.

One very notable event that required contributions from everyone was Academy Batch 40. The number of applicants and recruits were astounding and we look forward to graduating one of the biggest batches in the department's history. A big shout out to every member of the Training & Development Bureau for kicking it into overdrive with this batch. More on that below. Another notable change was our revision of our Command Team structure along with the non-commissioned insignias. Although most of these changes are aesthetic, we hope that these new structures and insignias can help represent us as a more modern and sophisticated department.

We would like to thank everyone again for their contributions this month. Enjoy the read!

Chief Dies In Fire

Christmas is around the corner, and New Year's Eve just right on the doorstep coming. The time of year has come where we forget all our sadness, demises, worries and celebrate in joy, rightness, enjoyment and fun.
From home to home, and heart to heart, from one place to another, the warmth and joy of Christmas, brings us closer to each other. And the celebrations and enjoyment we do have at this week, is not something to miss of!
This new year comes with lots of happiness and love with unfolded hands.
Have had worries with your past year? This is the new start-off for your life, a road which will have it's ups and downs, but how you confront and change yourselves according to, is needed.
We all had our worries and step-down moments, some bright, some dark;some cherishing, some demising but it's the inner self that made us stand till far, and we've seen the year end like an envelope, coming in with open letter and departing with a closed one.
One has rightly said, time flies off by and things change-by, we change ourselves, our basis of understanding but let's think of the day today and not the past. Let's keep the inside of ourselves same and do the little fun of making us enjoyed and better as one chapter of our life ends. It's new year coming...
