Dear San Andreas,
Academy Batch #40 was a great success, with a record-breaking
117 applications, 47 of which making it to the academy. Our fantastic students have been on the field for a number of weeks and are eagerly waiting for their
Graduation Ceremony which will be this Sunday 26th February at 20:00 UTC
((Click here for time conversions)). The Graduation Ceremony will be held at Dillimore Police Station and everyone is welcome, you're advised to arrive 15-20 minutes early to get a good parking space.
The San Andreas State Police Academy is by far the most organized and efficient operation within the department, ensuring all academy students get the training they need, both administrative and on the field to ensure they can be a confident and respectful law enforcement officer. Upon passing the academy exam, the students will be able to patrol with Troopers and will be given a curriculum which they will have to demonstrate their knowledge of. During this time, the Trooper who they are patrolling with will take note of what they have witnessed and created a report. All of these reports get filed into a Field Training Report and upon completion, the Probationary Trooper will be signed off for graduation.
During the graduation, various members of the command and high command team will say a few statements on how the department has grown and talked about some highlights from the academy, the Probationary Troopers will then be put under oath and sworn in as a State Trooper.

During my service in the department, I've overseen the Academy graduations of many successful employees - including Captain First Class James Fitzpatrick, who was my Field Training Student when I was a Lieutenant! I'd also like to take an opportunity to thank the Field Training Officers who have devoted long hours of hardship and administrative duty to ensuring these novel members of our department get off to the best start possible. I am, of course, looking forward to welcoming and overseeing the recruitment of a new batch of students next week also - I'm sure it'll keep me busy... Once again, well done to everybody and I look forward to the graduation ceremony to formally congratulate all of you." - Vincent Kemp, Major

Applications are due to open on
March 1, 2017 and will be open until
March 15, 2017 with the orientation the next day. The Academy will take place on
